Today is a special day for me.
I've made $3M with my 36 startups.
Solo.
85% margin.
Bootstrapped.
It took 10 years, and I loved every second of it.
After failing as an entrepreneur for 5 years, I got a job in 2021.
That's when I discovered @levelsio's journey and decided to try again.
"If he can do it, maybe I can too?"
So I started building tiny startups and writing about it.
2021 and 2022 were quiet, but I was having fun.
Everything changed in 2023 when I launched ShipFast and made my first million.
Building something people finally paid for and enjoyed made me so happy.
My first 5 years of failures taught me not to get emotionally attached to a project, because everything goes to 0 eventually.
So I just kept shipping.
It's 2026, and I've launched 36 startups.
50% never made money.
Only 11% made decent money.
Back in 2016, when I started, I believed I would make it.
If I had known it would take 7 years of failure, I probably would never have started.
That's why I'm stupidly optimistic.
I don't think in years. I don't dream big.
I think in weeks. I build tiny projects fast. And I quit even faster.
That's how I wake up happy, enjoy the journey, and eventually build life-changing projects.
If you've been following the journey, thank you. You've given my posts a sense of purpose, which has kept me going, and I'm very grateful for this. ❤️
Congrats!!!

What's mad about OpenAI's Jalapeño chip is that if AI really helped develop it, it was mostly MUCH weaker models than Astra, considering how long the process takes. And yet, they still beat Nvidia.
They would have started only when o1-ish model was around and would have done most of the core design by GPT-5.
So imagine what kind of chip you could build with a special version of Astra in the loop, RL'd to do chip design. I bet we haven't yet seen even 1% of what AI can really do for problems like these.
Estimated Jalapeño timeline:
- Oct 2024: Chip architecture. o1 era.
- Feb 2025: Circuit design begins. o3 era.
- Jul 2025: Chip logic frozen. GPT‑5 era. AI optimisation: matrix unit 10% smaller, vector unit 8% smaller.
- Nov 2025: Design sent for manufacturing, nine months after circuit design began.
- Summer 2026: Codex with Astra helps port three models in two months. Selected kernels run 1.5–1.8× faster than expert-written versions.

I just finished this book my friend @alexwestco recommended.
It’s a short story about dealing with change. I liked it because I’ve struggled to accept that things won’t be the same tomorrow.
You can get sick. You can get banned from X. You can lose money.
I remember when ShipFast peaked at $130k/mo and dropped to $45k/mo a few months later. It sounds stupid, but I felt like a failure for not being able to keep the business afloat.
I’m still working on it, but I’ve learned not to take everything too seriously. It helps me deal with sudden changes more easily, and that’s exactly what this book is about.
Happiness depends on how much you’re giving a shit :)
Give it a read!

ChatGPT 6 Astra is AGI, but only if you use it the right way
I've used Astra for dozens of hours now. To get the most out of it, you need to master these things:
• Computer Use
• Thinking levels
• Prompting techniques
In this video I cover them all plus 4 more hacks: https://t.co/Z8yQ1UYiqC
Omarchy is the only operating system in 2026 built for AI
If you take AI serious, you're making major mistake by not pulling a beater laptop out of your closet and installing Omarchy ASAP
Here are 11 tips to get started:
1. Set up is painfully easy. Plug a USB thumb drive (I bought one for 10 bucks at Micro Center) into your normal computer. Go to any AI agent and say to flash the USB drive with Omarchy so you can install it on another computer. Tell it to walk you through step by step how to do it (it's dead simple and takes under 5 minutes)
2. You can use ANY computer. You don't need to buy a new one. There are people installing Omarchy on 15 year old laptops with 2gb of memory. Go to your closet and pull out your old college laptop.
3. Anything you don't like about the OS, just change it. Because the operating system is open source, you can edit the code. Anything you don't like (I didn't love the notification system) I just go to my chatgpt, hermes, or grok bot agents and just say "change this for me". Boom like magic it changes
4. Explore the plugins marketplace. There are some INCREDIBLE community made plugins for the OS. My favorite is a google calendar one that always shows my next meeting in my nav bar.
5. Build your own plugins. This is my favorite part about using open source software. It's never been easier to build your own plugins and contribute to the community. I'm building my own focus timer I'll ship in the next couple of days.
6. Make it your own. The built in themes to Omarchy are BEAUTIFUL. Explore them and see which one fits your vibe the most. I love Osaka nights.
7. Daily drive it. Once you get used to the keybinds and the way the OS works I promise it'll be impossible to go back to MacOS or especially Windows. Give yourself some time to learn the ins and outs.
8. Contribute to the community. Share your tips and tricks on social media. The more people we have using Omarchy, the more people build improvements, the better the OS is.
9. Customize the keybinds. Keybinds are the most important concept of Omarchy. It's an OS built to be used just with your keyboard. So make the keybinds your own. For instance I made super+A a pop up that allows me to quickly add a todo item to my list. Boosts my productivity a ton. To customize, just ask your AI agent to change them
10. If you are going to buy a new computer, I LOVE the Framework 13 Pro, altho the Dell XPS 14 is great too. I like the Framework a lot because it's MacBook Pro quality, but you literally have to build it yourself which made the computer really feel like my own (I'm not sponsored by anyone involved with this post btw)
11. Contribute to the community. The more people using Omarchy the better.

Beef and pork are both high quality, Okinawa is famous for Ishigaki and Motobu wagyu and Agu pork. The pork in particular was the best I’ve had.

I think this is fundamentally the wrong question
When I was in high school. Before the dot com bubble burst. My teacher told me:
“You kids are going to be doing jobs that haven’t even been invented yet”

None of those jobs were jobs back then

With nearly 100 hours of games played since I started tracking last week I’ve learned a few things:
There is one standout game which could be built into something more substantial and released as an app on the App Store
But it’s not a true outlier in any sense. It’s just more “sticky” than the other games with more people coming back again and again.
Before I invest in making it a real game/app I’m going to keep watching it.
In the meantime the experimentation continues.
Direction for the upcoming week:
Fun games with more game mechanic than just “do the thing and rank on the leaderboard” type stickiness. I’m thinking levels, progression, etc
I’ve been thinking a lot about old games I loved as a kid that could be revamped for 2026. Games like bridge builder and the incredible machine were fun. And there hasn’t been a decent web version successor created yet. I’m exploring this path.
Also: I like this idea of creating an open world type game that you explore (drive around to inside buildings) and I’m trying to work out the best premise/game mechanic for it. Will see how it goes.
Fable does this trial and error thing to get to the finished product. It burns token in the process while it iterates and self reviews
Meanwhile Astra seems to understand the problem and solution immediately. Then finds the most direct path to get there.
The result: Astra is more efficient when you have a clear outcome presented. It gets there quick with minimal token burning.
Fable *does* get there too. But it chews your tokens in the process.
The best way to promote Astra is to be prescriptive about exactly what you want and let it do its thing.
I've had a bunch of people ask me how I made this
This is my exact process:
First I drew a sketch of what I wanted the subway station to look like. I asked Nano Banana 2 to turn it into a render using this prompt:
"turn this sketch into a photorealistic Unreal engine generated game scene from an AAA game studio. its a subway station looking straight down the walkway between the platforms with trains on either platform. load baring pillars and the stairwell ahead that takes you to the subway above"
Then I asked GPT-6 Astra on Ultra to turn into a technical demo that showcases its capabilities with this prompt:
"Create a threejs interactive technical demo that showcases your models technical capabilities of this subway scene '/Users/adamlyttle/dev/subway-test/subway-scene.png'. It must look exactly like this scene with trains entering and leaving the platforms in a realistic manner. Doors opening and the interactive first person view being able to walk around the platform, enter a train when it’s at the station and explore upstairs. Upstairs will have the ticket gates, toilets and a convenience store that is stocked. The brief is for the entire interactive area to have the same photo realism as the photo attached. it must be able to run on desktop using a mouse + keyboard or gamepad using normal game controls and no ability to walk through walls. I should be able to explore the platform, the train carriages, the upstairs area, the toilets, the convenience store and I should be able to look at the ticket gates but not exit. This is a closed world after all. Every scene built needs to feel like its part of the same world as the original photo, a person looking must immediately think they are part of the same demonstration with the same photo realism. When I enter a train the train will not leave the platform. You have access to fal ai mcp for asset generation (textures, mesh, etc). Your job is to build the scene to be a perfect replica of the attached photo and expand on the world into the train carriages and the upstairs area. Quality is AAA game with photo realism perfect replica of attached photo. You are not authorised to look at the other agents work in the subway-test folder. In the progress folder generate a index.html file which documents your process including screenshots in a way that a human looking will understand your thinking and process and see the journey as it unfolds. Build it."
That's it. Astra did the rest for me.
It only took 26m 9s and used 10,460,032 tokens to generate 🤷🏻♂️

引用@DmytroBavykinUsually Monday starts slowly with a lazy cup of coffee and going over the backlog
But then @tedmirra shared his commitment in Uneed Discord and I decided to join
I was planning it for later and closer to Uneed Residency, but many other community members … ↗
YES 🔥🔥
For september, 5 people (my self included) from Uneed Community shared their goals publicly!
We're all going to release a new project before the end of the month 😎
引用@b3nm4nnI got nerd-sniped by @T_Zahil to build a two-sided market place. I have ~23 days left. In my mind this only counts as a win if we can generate at least some MRR. Let's go 💪

Backlinks got you ranked on Google.
But they do almost nothing for AI 😅
LLMs don't read metrics, they read sentences. To be recommended, your product needs to exist inside actual prose: what it does, who it's for, how it compares...
That's why a single in-depth review beats 50 directory links 🤖

引用@JamiePeakI’m currently looking for my next opportunity as a Senior Product Designer. 👋
If you’re hiring or know of anything that might be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.

I'm embarrassed by my own product.
I built Subsail by hand in 2016 and 2017 and the design has not changed since then. It's functional, but not pretty, and it isn't even responsive, meaning it's a pain to use on mobile.
There are always more important things to work on. I haven't made the time to update it, use something like Tailwind, or make it responsive. Don't even think about dark mode lol.
I'd love to update it. But also, I've never had anyone complain. It works, so I leave it working
About a year ago I sold my Ghost host, Gloat, to Magic Pages, a (much better) hosting platform.
I’m super impressed with what Magic Pages is becoming, offering a ton of things on top of basic Ghost sites.
Really happy to have met Jannis, the founder, this weekend in person 🙌 https://t.co/HH4Ra8To5v

Imagine the antics of indie hackers in literally any other profession.
A hospital leaderboard:
#1 Surgeon - $30k/mo
#2 Consultant - $27k/mo
#3 Anaesthetist - $26k/mo
"Just crossed $25k MRR from euthanasia."
"Huge week. 17 new patients."
"Anyone can become a surgeon. Just operate every day for 30 days."
"I built a new operating theatre in 48 hours with AI."
"Here’s the exact funnel I used to get my first 100 patients."
Absolutely bizarre.
Yes somehow this is normalised by indie hackers.
AI-generated testimonials are a scam.
Not only did these people never use the product.
They don't exist at all.
Real customers will see right through it.
The only people impressed by AI testimonials are the scammers selling you AI testimonial tools.
Fake people, fake experiences, and fake trust.
The product must be great if there isn't a single testimonial from a real user.e
Customers don't care about your MRR.
A PR firm evaluating Alertly is thinking:
> Does it catch the mentions I need?
> Is it reliable?
> Is my data safe?
> Is it worth the price?
They are not thinking - "Excellent, Kyle has reached $7,746 MRR"
I added .csv exports to Alertly.
The least exciting feature, but most important feature that every enterprise customer cares about. https://t.co/TzGyccVCPs
Do you ever feel uneasy looking at AI images or video?
You can't point to what's wrong but something feels off.
Your brain evolved to detect tiny inconsistencies in reality.
It's called uncanny valley.
Your subconscious picks up that something is off.
You get an uneasy, eerie feeling as a warning.
Now think about using AI in your marketing.
Do you want customers feeling uneasy when they see your content?
