I'd personally like to know more about what tools it used/wanted and the harness setup, because this sounds pretty cool. What I learned: telling AI to convert the code will just make it "re-imagine" the source, which is mostly completely worthless (similar to your results, even frontier models will completely mess this up). What worked: 1.) write a transpiler to the target language first, frontier models do this easily. 2.) You get running code in output language which loo …

The more capable AI agents become, the more SaaS they eat, the more I think SaaS as we know it will consolidate around System of Record software.
AI doesn't replace a CMS / CRM.
I expect to see those spaces get even more competitive, and even more niched down.
This is a good example of software businesses will still pay for
Nobody is going to vibe code their own compliance fleet management app
The opportunities are out there.
You just have get over the “everybody will vibe code everything” doomer mindset to see them
引用@dhhThis looks great: "The idea for Omadium is simple, give companies an easy way to enable their teams to use an extremely productive operating system while maintaining their compliance requirements." https://t.co/CPqzBlYkTmhttps://t.co/RRvvvRg2Ai↗
People who think companies will vibe code everything themselves have no idea how real companies operate.
Companies pay me $1000s to answer technical questions, prioritise their roadmap and make architectural decisions.
Real companies spend money to solve problems, they're not penny-pinchers throwing spaghetti at the wall with vibe coding hoping for the best.
Yeah I have the feeling that all SaaS pricing books and blog articles will have to be rewritten quite soon (as to not contain dangerously outdated advice).
引用@iamAlexTurnbullPricing is fucking hard for AI native apps.

The complexity of adding an MCP to your product (if you already have some sort of API) is a single prompt.
Here is precisely what I would dictate into my prompt field today. Maybe this gives you some insight into how I prompt agentic systems:
"Add full MCP capabilities to the product, aiming for feature parity with our existing API implementation.
For authentication purposes, use the OAuth implementation that is closest to our existing authentication stack. If you have to create authentication confirmation pages, keep the design as close as possible to our login and registration pages as you can.
For documentation, create solid, self-contained documentation blocks for every single tool that mirrors the complexity of API docs.
Create MCP management, analytics, and log features analogous to our API implementation and draft MCP landing pages that also fit into our existing marketing and customer acquisition scheme.
Do extensive web searches around the quirks and expectations of OpenAI and the Anthropic MCP and plugin stores. As we will likely want to submit this MCP to be a first-class tool in either of these and more store systems, pay special attention to how tools need to be configured, described, and tagged to make sure that this will pass plugin store review without issues.
Implement the equivalent of the tests we have for the appropriate API routes for this MCP implementation, making sure that we follow protocol implementation best practices.
Create a dedicated landing page for agentic website visitors that has an easy path for them to quickly implement the MCP within their own runtime and products.
When in doubt about any step of the implementation, please use the ask user question tool to get my feedback. First create a scope document and have me verify it, then implement the full document right away."
(Dictated but not read 🤣 using WhisprFlow)
This should get you 95% of the way there. The rest is some manual testing, deploying, and telling your customers you have an MCP now.

I normally don't do these things but this guy is really special!
His name is Lito (@avioesemusicas) and he's famous in Brazil for making really fun airplane videos, I watch them all the time too
He explains how airplanes work in normal ELI5 language, and also explains airplane crashes etc, lots of people credit him for helping them stop being scared to fly as Lito showed how safe it is
If you ever read Hacker News, you know about prions, which they love to discuss, they're one of the scariest things you'll ever read about, as they can flip seemingly at random in your body and cause Creutzfeldt–Jakob, a terminal disease
I'm Dutch so we had a big outbreak of mad cow disease in the 1990s when I was a kid and I remember it well. You can get it from eating infected meat (but it's very rare), or prions can flip in your body randomly and cause it, or you can have surgery and one of the surgery tools can have it on them from previous patients
The issue with that from what I read is that it's close to impossible to wash off, and it won't die at extreme heats either, you just have to throw away all surgery tools (which you can't)
85% of Creutzfeldt–Jakob is a randomly flipping prion though, so that's most probably
Anyway, Lito here can participate in a promising trial by @Harvard@broadinstitute@ionispharma@mayoclinic but the next batch is only in October, so he's hoping the internet (like this tweet) can help him get in earlier, so he has a chance
And that trial hopefully helps us find a cure for this crazy disease
So if you can spread this, do so! This guy is really awesome, THANK YOU ❤️

When buying interior for our house we discovered most sofas, chairs, rugs, carpets, curtains now use materials that are almost without exception fully plastic
And of course they shed all this plastic in their lifetime that they sit in your house, and you just end up breathing in nanoplastics over 10-20 years
It's very hard to find stuff with natural materials, these days and if you do find it, it's super super expensive
Also most times the sales people look at you like you're high when you ask for it
But sir this is "ultrasuede alcantra olefin", all those terms are bullshit, and it's all plastic
Unless they say cotton, wool, linen, silk, cork, or actual natural latex, it's generally just plastic and you'll be breathing it in (or worse)
They often use fancy names to cover up it's all plastic:
- "vegan leather" that's literally just polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic
- "leatherette/pleather" same PVC
- "air leather" perforated PU
- "bonded leather" leather scraps glued together with PU
- "alcantra" luxury sofas use this and guess what: it's polyester and PU blended
- "ultrasuede" synthetic microfiber plastic
- "olefin" stain resistant polypropylene (PP) plastic
- "polyamide" a mesh of synthetic polymers
- "lustrous" or "trevia cs", both used in curtains, both fully polyester
For our house we mostly have cotton, wool and leather finishes and it wasn't easy to get that, most is custom finishing because almost nobody asks for it!

The more dysfunctional public services are the more you force people to go private and fend for themselves
This moves you into the direction of Brazilification
Rich people will pay for their own walled condos with private security, bulletproof cars, private healthcare, and everything will be high quality but only for the rich. At the same time the rich will build constructions to not pay tax or just flee the country because why would they not?
This pushes down tax income for governments meaning they will have to increase taxes to pay for the already dysfunctional government services
Meanwhile poor people get further isolated, they don't have money to go private so they rely fully on public services which are now worse than they were before. And they get isolated even more and now you have a 2-tier society of rich and poor fully divided
This forces the poor to start robbing the rich and now you get even more private security and rich fleeing the country and less tax income
"Brazilification"
It's a vicious cycle
Now if you had safe cities, great public services, great healthcare, you would never have this problem. You'd have both rich and poor participating in the functioning system. And rich would be happy to pay more because they get a great liveable society!
引用@levelsioI think most high skilled Europeans are happy to pay (even high) taxes

It’s official: the United States has entered the open source AI war
Nvidia signed a 6 billion dollar deal with Poolside to have them start working on their open source Nemotron model
This is the best news of the year. The US can’t roll over on open source
Here’s where it gets interesting: Nvidia is now officially competing with frontier companies. Companies they’ve invested hundreds of billions into the last several years
On top of that, they’ll have a MASSIVE compute advantage because well… they are the compute
Much like Anthropic and OpenAI have superior internal models they can use to accelerate faster, Nvidia has superior internal chips they can use to train faster
What happens if Nvidia starts putting companies they invest in out of business?
No matter what happens, the following things are facts that can’t be denied:
1. The demand for compute is insatiable
2. Open source AI is a big part of the future
3. If you are taking AI seriously, you should have your own compute set up
4. Assets tied to compute, energy, and the AI buildout will only become more valuable

In fact, you will hit an effectiveness ceiling within hours if you don't understand how software systems work.
And it goes beyond being able to read the code. It starts with configuring the harness, clearly expressing what needs to be built in the prompt, and setting up validation and testing systems to ensure functionality is maintained over time.
All of these require domain knowledge in programming (plus the actual domain expertise of the field that the solution exists in).
引用@tylertringasA background in programming (aka talking to computers) is still hugely beneficial when working with AI agents. ↗
Some founders are responding with a sensational amount of grifter energy to the whole bidding website hype. This will ultimately backfire spectacularly.
I've been noticing that in myself too, and I feel that, in some ways, I've learned a better, more precise way of expressing a concept I would otherwise have misnamed. Kind of a good thing, right?
"gate", "canonical", "pinning", and a few more.
引用@philfreoEveryone’s been complaining about Claude-speak in the last couple months but can I just point out that I think it’s actually been changing engineers own vocabulary?
I’ve heard more (verifiably human) engineers non-ironically say “gate” and “byte-identical” … ↗
That’s why enterprise has an expectation for MCP and API affordances for every software tool they use.
I’m getting these requests every single time for Podscan.
It’s a requirement now. People want to have their thing use your thing. And they always already have their own thing.

Like this so I can make my outbid money back! 👇

Not only was this a zero ROI placement - but my email inbox is now full of cold outreach from all the outbid clones that want me to list on their sites too.
Guys... No 😂
引用@SimonHoibergOk I got carried away frankly throwing money at this, there is going to be zero ROI on this placement, but fortunately I didn't get nearly as carried away as other people here 😂

"How do you handle security?" - probably the question about self-hosting I get asked the most.
It's a bit misunderstood...
Most security issues have nothing to do with where you host your products - you can be careless in the cloud, and your app will still be super insecure.
For self-hosting, a common setup is:
- Cloudflare tunnel
- Tailscale
And it's a solid baseline.
But you can actually do this in a more "cloudless" way too.
Here's what we do 👇

This is a good example of software businesses will still pay for
Nobody is going to vibe code their own compliance fleet management app
The opportunities are out there.
You just have get over the “everybody will vibe code everything” doomer mindset to see them
引用@dhhThis looks great: "The idea for Omadium is simple, give companies an easy way to enable their teams to use an extremely productive operating system while maintaining their compliance requirements." https://t.co/CPqzBlYkTmhttps://t.co/RRvvvRg2Ai↗
I don’t think people will pay for regular software, BUT there may still be a market if you think outside the box
- Open source software with sponsorships (companies pay for brand awareness, be the preferred integration, etc)
- Cloud services (like backup) that need reliability a vibe coded app won’t provide
- Hardware (USB dongle to run virtualized Omarchy on your Apple Silicon MacBook?)
- Something else?

Seeing how much money people wasted on the Outbid site reminded me once more how big the hunger for distribution is.
(No shade to the founder who had a genius idea and executed it really well.)
But if you look at the fastest-growing products these days what they sell is almost always the dream of traffic and conversions.
Outbid支出证明分发饥饿:增长最快的产品常在卖流量与转化梦想。

The more capable AI agents become, the more SaaS they eat, the more I think SaaS as we know it will consolidate around System of Record software.
AI doesn't replace a CMS / CRM.
I expect to see those spaces get even more competitive, and even more niched down.
I stopped calling myself an indie hacker.
Indie hacking became about MRR screenshots, chasing likes, virality, status games, 15 slop apps a week.
If you do these things, think hard about how a real B2B customer will perceive you.
“Spend Saturday building your app and launch it 🚀”
is more exciting than:
“Interview 15 potential customers”
But only one builds a successful business.
