I don't know what the answer is yet, but to get the most out of it, you have to adjust your expectations of when you use it. Probably only when you genuinely need instant responses (e.g. you are fixing your broken demo live), and never for any regular work.

One more thing, you can now build and deploy MCP servers right through ChatGPT. And restrict its access to anyone you want or share it with the world.
引用@mxstbrAnnouncing one more launch: ChatGPT Sites can now host MCP servers, including plugin extensions! 🤯
> @sites create a todo list that I can use in ChatGPT
This will:
· Create an MCP server with extensions
· Deploy that MCP server to Sites
· Turn the MCP … ↗
Shareable profiles bring your Sites and plugins together in ChatGPT, so others can find and reuse what you’ve made.
Built it? Show it off. https://t.co/W5MSqDnYbO
Build in public was always about marketing. Sometimes you’d be sharing lessons because you genuinely want other indiehackers to succeed, but that’s from an era where there was a non verbal agreement to not overlap projects with someone else, and you have X months of a technical head start anyway.
But the sharing ultimately led to benefits. More people checking out your site. More WOM. Maybe even some direct signups from X or wherever you’re sharing.
That era is dead now. There’s no tech head start anymore and the non verbal agreement has evaporated. It’s every man woman and chihuahua for themselves. There’s also so much software that nobody cares anymore. I could launch something today that would be revolutionary 2 years ago, that today nobody would bat an eye at. It’s all within reach of anyone with a max subscription.
RIP building in public. Let’s hope we find something to replace it.
But I think the game now is: can you find a space not saturated with devs where you can provide value with tech, can you shut up about it, and can you sell the solution to non technical buyers.
Long enough to make generational wealth before AGI turns us all back into fishermen and rice farmers.
Godspeed my fellow meat proxies.
I now reject more than 50% of the products added to Uneed.
It's getting worse and worse: honestly, product quality has never been this low... So much so that it's getting easier to stand out when you have a good product.
Every day, I receive dozens of AI video generators, directories of free mini-tools, free image or PDF conversion tools...
Fun fact:
On average, over the last 30 days, 3 launch platforms per day have requested to be launched on Uneed 😂. Now, I’m turning them down!
"Ship fast" is dead.
I agree with Olly on everything here, but I think the game is still on: the rules have just changed.
I run a launch platform that receives 300+ product submissions every day, and I can tell you two things:
1️⃣ Everyone is building the same things, creativity is DEAD for many. It means that it's possible to stand out.
2️⃣ The entry barrier is basically non-existant now, but the average quality of the products is absolutely devastatingly low
Most of what I see was built in a few hours and abandoned the next day!
It makes a lot of noise, and that noise makes founders feel hopeless, like they're one in 100,000,000 people selling the same thing to the same people...
But!
If you cut off the noise, things haven't changed much.
There are still MANY underserved niches everywhere, mostly for non technical people
But you have to stand out! You can't be:
❌ shipping a "meh" product with an "okayish" landing page
❌ generating 50 UGC videos and spamming cold emails
❌ switching ideas every 3 days because AI makes it feel cheap
and then hope customers will magically come 😬
What works: thinking. Sometimes without AI. Taking your time, picking one thing, and making it genuinely useful.
You have to THINK, by yourself and sometimes without AI. Taking your time, slowing things down, picking ONE thing, focusing, and making it genuinely good and useful.
I'll give you a super concrete example
👉🏻 It comes from a woman I've met 2 weeks ago while recording a podcast.
She worked for many years in amusement parks and museums.
After a while, she realized that they ALL have one thing in common: their shops are super badly managed.
People working there don't know how to run a shop, how to manage an inventory, run discounts, turnover is high, etc.
It's a super specific niche with a lot of issues. They're mostly non technical.
So she started building a SaaS for it, selling high ticket subscriptions and solving a real and strong problem. She goes herself into those parks and museums, show them the product, trains the staff to use it, increase their profits a lot.
She's already banking and will probably own the whole market really fast.
She didn't produce UGC content, sent annoying cold emails or anything. She just knew a market super well, took her time, and built one useful thing.
"Ship fast" is dead. The new rule is "Think slow".

Big news! 🎉 My podcast data platform @podscanfm has been acquired by @audiohook.
If you've followed my journey, you know this isn't my first time making a call like this. FeedbackPanda taught me a lot about knowing when a partnership makes more sense than staying solo. This one's a different shape though. FBP was an exit. This is closer to a merge, and I'm not going anywhere (because I'm definitely not done yet.)
And Audiohook wasn't a stranger. Podscan's tech has already been powering a piece of their platform for a while now. This formalizes a relationship that was already working, and gives me real resources to build the roadmap faster for the people who've been using Podscan every day. (Turning a customer into an acquirer has been a new one for me, but it came with free alignment and well-established trust!)
I’m staying on to lead Podscan through this next chapter. Same product, same commitment to the people who've trusted Podscan with their data, just with a lot more behind it than I had solo.
I sent a longer note to Podscan customers today. Sharing it here too, since a lot of you have been part of this founder journey from the start, one way or another.
More soon (as I am quite literally back at work, improving the Podscan API as we speak.)
I made $217,071 in September 2026.

Since I was a kid, I've been told to focus on one thing. I find that boring. I want to play and try a bunch of things.
I never felt confident because nothing really worked out for 7 years. I ended up being average at everything: coding, marketing, design...
But building 37 startups (https://t.co/4zCWHGJWRq) taught me something far more important: resilience, discipline, and optimism.

I don't know what the answer is yet, but to get the most out of it, you have to adjust your expectations of when you use it. Probably only when you genuinely need instant responses (e.g. you are fixing your broken demo live), and never for any regular work.

Over the past decade, those skills have compounded. I now run a tiny portfolio of startups making $1M+/year, sleep 8 hours a night, work out 2 hours a day, and spend plenty of time with my wife.

We've cut off alcoholics in our friend group before because they are kind of a lethal risk to the tribe
After lots of warnings of course
I think being an alcoholic you don't realize slowly all your friends get the fuck out and stop hanging with you because you're such a liability
This guy in particular was causing havoc by the way, it was getting very weird at parties and the last thing I remember is him spreading his arms in a regular restaurant shouting
"I LOVE ALCOHOL"
And buying shots for all the staff and forcing them to drink them (the staff did not want to drink shots)
It was a great decision

I've never seen AI replies be so bad on @X as the last few weeks
Especially the first few minutes after you post they flood it with AI replies https://t.co/13pC0mNmWt
I've been actively fighting almost guaranteed age-related loneliness for years, studies show after age 30 you start seeing friends less and when you get older especially men don't have any social life left!
It's preventable, but it takes effort and initiative
We've now organized 70 weekly coworking days where we meet with friends and work together, do show and tell, and try help each other make things (also hardware stuff more recently)
We've also started organizing movie nights, art nights, barbecues, we watched the World Cup final on a projector screen in the garden with friends
We did a collage night the other day where we bought cheap gossip magazines, colored paper, and Pritt glue, and gave everyone scissors to make their own art, I think nobody spent time on their phone for at least 4 hours, making things puts you in a flow state and it's fun to do it in a group because you talk about different stuff while making things than you would for ex having a dinner
Movie nights are nice too but less popular I think cause everyone prefers to watch movies alone and also you can't really talk during a movie
Coworkings range from having sometimes 20 people to sometimes just 2 people, people have their own lives, but me and @rameerez still try to organize them weekly
One thing I realized is that we are usually the ones organizing stuff, but that's not a bad thing, there's even studies about this, there's usually a few people in a group who organize most of the events
If nobody in your group organizes stuff, it doesn't mean nobody wants to do stuff, but you have to take the initiative to bring people together which isn't easy in a time where phones and apps and the internet are simply easier and cheaper dopamine than driving to a friends house for a party
You can start with a coworking day, everyone brings their laptop, and you provide WiFi and coffee, then later you can try more types of events
Having an active social life is just as important or in some studies even more important for health than physical fitness
After a nice party I feel tired but satisfied, I had fun and didn't spend time on my phone or computer but instead talked and laughed with friends etc.
We don't drink alcohol with very few exceptions and nor do our friends, so it's mostly just having really nice food and sparkling water or kombucha etc, and we don't really need alcohol, after a few hours it gets fun enough anyway!
So I recommend everyone, take initiative, and organize something and get people together, it'll be fun! 😊

Great article on increasing solitude of our societies, in this case US but same probably in EU to a lesser extent:
"Derek Thompson's essay "You Are No Longer Invited to Dinner" argues that Americans have largely stopped having people over.
The headline stat comes from combining the old DDB Needham Life Style surveys Robert Putnam used in *Bowling Alone* with a new replication by Data For Progress.
The share of Americans who host friends or family at home at least monthly fell from 42% in 1975 to 12% in 2026, roughly a 70% drop. Most other forms of socializing also fell by double digits over the last 30 years, including cards, bars, sporting events, and volunteering. The decline in hosting was steeper than the much-discussed drop in church attendance.
He rules out two comforting explanations. People haven't just moved dinners to restaurants, since solo dining is rising and face-to-face socializing is down overall. They also haven't replaced parties with other social activities. Exercise and travel are up, but exercise is mostly solitary, and time spent at home has jumped sharply since the 2010s.
His explanations:
1. Harried dual-earner households. As societies get richer, leisure starts to feel like work, and planning a dinner party is basically unpaid project management. Women historically ran the family social calendar. When they moved into paid work, men didn't take over that job. He admits this can't be the whole story, because total leisure time has actually increased.
2. Intensive parenting. Parents, especially fathers, now spend far more time with their kids, and that time comes out of evenings that used to go to hosting adults.
3. Shrinking friend networks. Close friendships are declining, most sharply among people without college degrees, so hosting is becoming a luxury good. People who never host skew toward independents and non-graduates. He speculates that weaker social ties may lead to weaker party attachment, rather than the other way around.
4. Home is too comfortable. Americans spent almost two extra hours a day at home between 2003 and 2022, much of it on screens and short-form video.
His closing idea is a "Lump of Leisure" theory, a twist on the Lump of Labor fallacy. Technology hasn't made human work unnecessary, but it has made other people less necessary for fun. Social leisure turns out to be finite and easy to displace.
He frames this as a coordination failure rather than a personal one: a dinner party requires schedules, cleaning, food, allergies, and the risk of a dull evening, while TikTok asks nothing of you.
A footnote adds that if everyone gets a bit busier, the difficulty of coordinating a get-together rises multiplicatively, so small increases in individual busyness could produce large drops in socializing overall."

Dev Day was INCREDIBLE
OpenAI made their biggest announcements of the year, including their agent Dots
I've had early access to many of these new features including Dots and Spaces
In this video I go over every single announcement and tell you how to get the most out of Dots https://t.co/LVZN0SiBQ5
OpenAI just released Dots, their competitor to Grok Bot and Muse
I've had early access for a bit, and I really like it
Its biggest differentiators are that it has access to ALL your ChatGPT memories, as well as all the amazing tools in the ChatGPT harness including:
• Voice mode
• ChatGPT plugins
• The new ChatGPT Spaces
• much more
Is it wildly differentiated from the other agents? No.
But if you've been using ChatGPT for a while, the fact that it just knows you and all your past chats really well is massive
And if you are a desktop app power user like me, being able to have your agent spin up codex threads on the go is wildly helpful
If you are more in the 'normie' crowd who primarily just has your agent make restaurant reservations, probably not for you
But if you use AI daily for more advanced stuff like building and doing all your knowledge work, it's excellent
OpenAI just announced that the $200 subscription will get half the amount of usage moving forward
It’s clear where all of this is going
All AI companies within the next 2 years will exclusively use API pricing. No more subscriptions
Subs only made sense when companies were willing to lose billions of dollars to get you into their ecosystem
Now that basically every AI company will be attempting to go public, they’ll no longer be able to burn extraordinary amounts of money
They’ll have to report their earnings to the street, and if the number isn’t going up and to the right, that’ll be really bad
I don’t think this is doomsday. The cheaper models like Luna and Sonnet are now actually really good. Compared to 6 months ago, they’d actually be frontier
That’s more than enough to be spectacularly productive for a good price
The consumer behavior is going to have to change. You are going to need to be fine with using an intelligence level appropriate for your work. Not just Astra 6 Max for every single thing you do
If you have a Ferrari and a Model 3 in your driveway, you don’t drive the Ferrari to pick up milk from 7/11. Sometimes you use the daily driver car
The days of AI subsidies are coming to an end, and it’s probably time we start getting used to it. The party is over.
引用@thsottiauxHi,
Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro … ↗

When I got my Matic, I knew that it was a different beast than any other vacuum I had ever owned, and NOW I know why. So cool to see the founders behind such incredible tech also be so liberal with sharing their learnings.
(Also, it's the best vacuum I ever owned.)

I’m getting a bit tired of hearing the word“distribution”. People on X act like it’s this magical thing forged over centuries.
Guess what, you can buy distribution. I can buy ads. I can buy a forum related to the problem space. I can sponsor a YouTube channel.
That’s all distribution.
What people on X mean when they say “distribution” is “earned media”. Yes that takes more time to build up.
But it’s not the only type of distribution.
In any given big coding session, I'll find a use case for Jev. It's crazy how nobody thought of this before.
And now they have a direct competitor less than a month after launch.
There is no moat.
Very interesting! Now that I think of it, I actually don't think I know a single person with a +$1M net worth who drinks (or at least gets drunk).

Outrank buyers want links from your niche and I don't have enough blogs for them

3 weeks ago, SEO twitter decided Outrank burns domains
our signups fell 26% the next day
not going to pretend that didn't hurt
but that really affected me, i set this mission to myself to help founders with my products, so i was really nervous about us potentially harming domains
I pulled GSC data for our users, ask AI for a full analysis and grouped them by how many of our backlinks they received, meaning how much they used Outrank
0-9 links: +24% Google clicks since joining
400+ links: +115%

引用@helloitsollyLots of founders are crashing out

It's getting worse and worse: honestly, product quality has never been this low... So much so that it's getting easier to stand out when you have a good product.
Every day, I receive dozens of AI video generators, directories of free mini-tools, free image or PDF conversion tools...
Fun fact:
On average, over the last 30 days, 3 launch platforms per day have requested to be launched on Uneed 😂. Now, I’m turning them down!
Attention is going to be the most valuable asset in the coming years.
Video especially.
Good video content is hard to produce, and AI can't replace it.
I'm not talking about random slop, I mean real humans sharing experience and building trust through connection with their audience.
99% of people won't even get in front of a camera.
I'm hyper bullish on personal branding for the next 5 years.
I got my first 100 users for my first startup in 2011 overnight.
Completely by accident when it was featured in .NET magazine.
Then I freaked out and had no idea what to do next 😂
Building a better product in a crowded market used to work.
Now it's not so simple.
You should only do this if you have a competitive distribution advantage in that market.
Do you have specific access or authority in a particular market?
Otherwise, forget it.
I'm building a new SaaS.
Sponsors as a Service.
