Can someone explain how so many folks managed to build decision models within days or weeks after Typesafe came out with Jev? Is this concept of decision models been in the works for a while? Is it easy to copy?

Jev is a huge power-up for research agents!
@edwardirby built a @youdotcom agent that monitors business risks, and compared Jev to an ordinary LLM judge.
• Same report quality
• But the LLM flip-flopped: 0.35 -> 0.68 -> 0.50 on the same threat
• the LLM missed 5 of 11 investigations. Jev missed none.
• Jev was 250x cheaper, 3-6x faster

Figured out how to make ChatGPT Dots an outrageously powerful agent:
Use it as a project manager, not an assistant (skill linked below)
The strength of ChatGPT is its harness. The desktop app is excellent and has an outrageous amount of tools
So if you use your Dot to project manage other threads/tools, it can get a lot more done than other personal assistants that you just ask to make you reservations
You can have it work on other projects for you continuously, loop over apps you're building, keep an eye on progress of other work, and just do a ton of things at once
You DO NOT want to be using this as just a personal assistant. The model and harness are too good to be just booking you dinner reservations.
Here is how I have it act as more of a project manager: have it start and keep an eye on other ChatGPT threads
Give it a goal for that thread (build an awesome video game, create this business idea for me, build this presentation)
Then have it manage that thread, working towards that goal step by step
As it goes along, have it test every step then update a ChatGPT Space with information on that thread
Then, do this with multiple projects and threads. It's really good at multitasking.
If you set the right expectations for project management, you can get a tremendous amount of work done at once.
Way more than you could with just a basic personal agent like Muse
I built a project management skill you can give your Dot that sets all the expectations I mentioned above. You can check it out here: https://t.co/aVcTJJ2cGN
Does Dots have wildly different features than other agents? No
But if you take advantage of it's strengths the right way, you can be wildly productive

but if someone like me (not technical but not normie) experiences this kind of thing, its not good enough.

▲160 how-can-i-dig-deeper: the word “pi” is used by so many things in this space 😔 it gets confusing
Very cool to see Pi build a durable agent harness too. I've been building in this space for quite some time myself [0][1] and it is a super interesting place of innovation. Less hype-y that on-your-machine coding agents, but all major players are building products in this space: LangChain Deep Agents, Vercel Eve, OpenAI Agents API, Anthropic Managed Agents, etc. The main reasons are: 1) they are "durable", i.e. easier to make long-running in an unattended way, and easier to implement recovery, m …
My company runs 4 SaaS products, and we used to be 4 developers (me included). Now we're down to 2 human devs, and neither of us writes code anymore.
AI agents now write 100% of our code.
(No exceptions)
This is a superpower!
But if all you're doing with it is dropping slop granades on an already slopped up internet, you're wasting it.
If you do it right, it can be the biggest competitive advantage you'll ever have.
But it requires discipline 👇
A couple of my learnings reflected here:
- adversarial reviews (ideally with a 3rd agent as arbiter) at every step
- max coverage test suite, unit to e2e, no exceptions. TDD must be baked into agentic flows
- human review matters more for non-code stuff, particularly at the architecture and decision-making stages
- contextmaxxing in the repo: docs, ARDs, customer ICP descriptions, runbooks, schema commentary, all must live INSIDE the codebase, not just attached to it
- contextmaxxing in the process: track every agentic conversation + changes made (via Entire or similar) and attach to ticket/PR
- dev/testing DB content matters more than ever: dry runs, workflow simulations, edge case hunting, performance measuring needs to happen before things hit prod, seeds aren't dummy data; they need to be representative of prod, if not in volume, then in shape
- code that works best for agents doesn't look best to humans: humans need to think of themselves as validators, not proofreaders.
Comprehension is now a function of our tools, not a state of our minds. Weird, novel, and kinda scary, but things operate at speeds that typing letters into a text field can never catch up to again.
引用@dhhIt takes a while to build the confidence, but there's no future where you're manually reviewing every line of agent code. Not much acceleration in that. You need adversarial agent reviews, you need automated testing, and maybe you spot check. That's it. From … ↗

We'll be spending a lot more time trying to understand the outputs of language models. A few thoughts, tips & tricks:
Writing. Something I've had success with: Ask your LLM to explain something in ASD-STE100, it's a controlled language specification originally developed for aerospace maintenance documentation. LLMs well-versed in this language and it comes with heavy constraints on clean writing style that I often find a lot more readable. Sometimes I've tried to soften it a bit e.g. ask for "80% of the way to ASD-STE100" because the spec is quite stringent. But even better:
Diagrams / images. Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram. These can be a lot easier to process, parse, and understand. But even better:
Web pages. Ask for output "in HTML" to get a beautiful, interactive webpage. LLMs are getting really good at frontend and can create beautiful experiences, animations, etc. But even better:
Explainer videos. The output format I am most bullish on is fully custom / bespoke explainer videos generated on any arbitrary topic. Experiment with things like "Create a 3b1b style video explainer on X. Use my ElevenLabs API key for audio narration". (you'd need an API key for the latter or you can ask your LLM to find you decent free alternatives that use your local compute). This is actually starting to work!
In summary:
- As LLMs get better, they will do more and more of the legwork autonomously, and a lot more of our work will rise up the abstractions into oversight and understanding.
- Luckily, LLMs can help here too because as intelligence and code are increasingly abundant, you can ask for large, custom, discardable software artifacts (e.g. web apps, video explainers) that would have never made sense to create before. Push the boundaries here and you'll be surprised.

They're boiling the frog and making everyone poorer
But most Westerners don't notice it, partly because prices of flights, hotels, travel as a whole has gone up so much (again it hasn't, we've all just been made poorer collectively)
And if you can't travel far, you can't notice how rich and modern parts of the non-West now are (Asia etc)

I've never seen AI replies be so bad on @X as the last few weeks
Especially the first few minutes after you post they flood it with AI replies https://t.co/13pC0mNmWt
I've been actively fighting almost guaranteed age-related loneliness for years, studies show after age 30 you start seeing friends less and when you get older especially men don't have any social life left!
It's preventable, but it takes effort and initiative
We've now organized 70 weekly coworking days where we meet with friends and work together, do show and tell, and try help each other make things (also hardware stuff more recently)
We've also started organizing movie nights, art nights, barbecues, we watched the World Cup final on a projector screen in the garden with friends
We did a collage night the other day where we bought cheap gossip magazines, colored paper, and Pritt glue, and gave everyone scissors to make their own art, I think nobody spent time on their phone for at least 4 hours, making things puts you in a flow state and it's fun to do it in a group because you talk about different stuff while making things than you would for ex having a dinner
Movie nights are nice too but less popular I think cause everyone prefers to watch movies alone and also you can't really talk during a movie
Coworkings range from having sometimes 20 people to sometimes just 2 people, people have their own lives, but me and @rameerez still try to organize them weekly
One thing I realized is that we are usually the ones organizing stuff, but that's not a bad thing, there's even studies about this, there's usually a few people in a group who organize most of the events
If nobody in your group organizes stuff, it doesn't mean nobody wants to do stuff, but you have to take the initiative to bring people together which isn't easy in a time where phones and apps and the internet are simply easier and cheaper dopamine than driving to a friends house for a party
You can start with a coworking day, everyone brings their laptop, and you provide WiFi and coffee, then later you can try more types of events
Having an active social life is just as important or in some studies even more important for health than physical fitness
After a nice party I feel tired but satisfied, I had fun and didn't spend time on my phone or computer but instead talked and laughed with friends etc.
We don't drink alcohol with very few exceptions and nor do our friends, so it's mostly just having really nice food and sparkling water or kombucha etc, and we don't really need alcohol, after a few hours it gets fun enough anyway!
So I recommend everyone, take initiative, and organize something and get people together, it'll be fun! 😊

The HYROX experiment https://t.co/49RnsFBVzP inflates this month's revenue, but it's the best month ever for my marketplace https://t.co/MZc8tGa5LQ ($53K) and my SaaS https://t.co/3EDxln5U2Q ($31K).
I do everything solo, and I'm not going to lie, I'm fucking proud of myself.
Since I was a kid, I've been told to focus on one thing. I find that boring. I want to play and try a bunch of things.
I never felt confident because nothing really worked out for 7 years. I ended up being average at everything: coding, marketing, design...
But building 37 startups (https://t.co/4zCWHGJWRq) taught me something far more important: resilience, discipline, and optimism.
Over the past decade, those skills have compounded. I now run a tiny portfolio of startups making $1M+/year, sleep 8 hours a night, work out 2 hours a day, and spend plenty of time with my wife.
Anything is possible if you're hungry.
Believe in yourself.

F1 won't let a car start a race if it qualifies more than 7% off the fastest pace. But the autobahn lets a car doing 75mph share the road with one doing 175. Can someone explain to me what's the rationale of having no speed limit? How is this not massively endangering others?

That's it. From … ↗

Big news! 🎉 My podcast data platform @podscanfm has been acquired by @audiohook.
If you've followed my journey, you know this isn't my first time making a call like this. FeedbackPanda taught me a lot about knowing when a partnership makes more sense than staying solo. This one's a different shape though. FBP was an exit. This is closer to a merge, and I'm not going anywhere (because I'm definitely not done yet.)
And Audiohook wasn't a stranger. Podscan's tech has already been powering a piece of their platform for a while now. This formalizes a relationship that was already working, and gives me real resources to build the roadmap faster for the people who've been using Podscan every day. (Turning a customer into an acquirer has been a new one for me, but it came with free alignment and well-established trust!)
I’m staying on to lead Podscan through this next chapter. Same product, same commitment to the people who've trusted Podscan with their data, just with a lot more behind it than I had solo.
I sent a longer note to Podscan customers today. Sharing it here too, since a lot of you have been part of this founder journey from the start, one way or another.
More soon (as I am quite literally back at work, improving the Podscan API as we speak.)

I agree with Olly on everything here, but I think the game is still on: the rules have just changed.
I run a launch platform that receives 300+ product submissions every day, and I can tell you two things:
1️⃣ Everyone is building the same things, creativity is DEAD for many. It means that it's possible to stand out.
2️⃣ The entry barrier is basically non-existant now, but the average quality of the products is absolutely devastatingly low
Most of what I see was built in a few hours and abandoned the next day!
It makes a lot of noise, and that noise makes founders feel hopeless, like they're one in 100,000,000 people selling the same thing to the same people...
But!
If you cut off the noise, things haven't changed much.
There are still MANY underserved niches everywhere, mostly for non technical people
But you have to stand out! You can't be:
❌ shipping a "meh" product with an "okayish" landing page
❌ generating 50 UGC videos and spamming cold emails
❌ switching ideas every 3 days because AI makes it feel cheap
and then hope customers will magically come 😬
What works: thinking. Sometimes without AI. Taking your time, picking one thing, and making it genuinely useful.
You have to THINK, by yourself and sometimes without AI. Taking your time, slowing things down, picking ONE thing, focusing, and making it genuinely good and useful.
I'll give you a super concrete example
👉🏻 It comes from a woman I've met 2 weeks ago while recording a podcast.
She worked for many years in amusement parks and museums.
After a while, she realized that they ALL have one thing in common: their shops are super badly managed.
People working there don't know how to run a shop, how to manage an inventory, run discounts, turnover is high, etc.
It's a super specific niche with a lot of issues. They're mostly non technical.
So she started building a SaaS for it, selling high ticket subscriptions and solving a real and strong problem. She goes herself into those parks and museums, show them the product, trains the staff to use it, increase their profits a lot.
She's already banking and will probably own the whole market really fast.
She didn't produce UGC content, sent annoying cold emails or anything. She just knew a market super well, took her time, and built one useful thing.
"Ship fast" is dead. The new rule is "Think slow".

a few weeks ago, a lot of people on here called Outrank a link farm
I was annoyed, but then I went and read every single reply
and some of it was fair
to get backlinks from our exchange, you had to host other people's links on your own site
and SEOs don't trust that kind of loop for good reason 👀
so for the last 8 weeks we've been building the opposite
you don't host a single link anymore
a real site writes a full article on its own blog with your link in it, and we pay that site in cash through Stripe, not credits
you can even get a listicle on a real blog with your product ranked #1
the hardest part was deciding who gets to sell
1,625 sites signed up but only 138 made it in
to qualify, a site needs:
- DR 30+
- 100+ clicks a month for at least 3 months
- Search Console connected, so we can see its real Google traffic
then it has to pass a content check, and 220 sites failed that one alone
since August we've done 222 placements
159 are live, and 158 of those are dofollow
the median time from order to published is 2.1 days
I care this much about "real" because ChatGPT and Perplexity cite the sites people actually read. nobody reads a PBN, so nobody cites one either
my bet is that AI search ends up rewarding fewer links from sites with real readers
https://t.co/Ofokzg1sHZ
if you run a blog in finance, health, education, HR, e-commerce or legal, I'll pay you double in October
Outrank buyers want links from your niche and I don't have enough blogs for them
normal payout: $1 per DR point per article
for 10 blogs that join this month: $2 per DR point per article
so a DR 60 blog makes $120 per article
reply with your blog 👇
3 weeks ago, SEO twitter decided Outrank burns domains
our signups fell 26% the next day
not going to pretend that didn't hurt
but that really affected me, i set this mission to myself to help founders with my products, so i was really nervous about us potentially harming domains
I pulled GSC data for our users, ask AI for a full analysis and grouped them by how many of our backlinks they received, meaning how much they used Outrank
0-9 links: +24% Google clicks since joining
400+ links: +115%
=> the more you use Outrank, the more you grow
lesson I keep relearning:
you don't have to win the argument
keep building great products and let the results speak
